Helping Save Babies

Helping save babies is a HUGE priority for me and when I can help by using my photography, even better! Our local Pregnancy Resource Center hosts a Benefit Dessert & Silent Auction every year to raise money to help women, their babies, and their families through free STD testing, pregnancy testing, parenting resources and counsel for those seeking answers to pregnancy questions. So excited to have been able to partner with the Sandy & Estacada PRC!

To the incredible Sponsors – THANK YOU!

Thank you to all the wonderful families and businesses who donated decor, their time, and muscle it took to make this event happen!

How can you go wrong with live music, DESSERT, and early Christmas shopping?! πŸ™‚ Did I mention dessert?

Lovely music performed by local artists. Thank you!

Thank you Sandy First Baptist Church for your support & hosting the ’12 PRC Benefit Dessert & Silent Auction!

Thank you Cheryl, John, & Annette for spear heading this event, for the hundreds of hours your have poured into so many women, men, families, and babies in our community! And thank you for the opportunity to capture this incredible evening!

Fighting The Dragon

Cancer is a something that strikes a cord in me. Several of my friends have fought cancer and one lost the battle a couple years ago. So, When April posted on my FB Timeline last Spring looking for a photographer to donate their services for their NW Sarcoma Foundation’s Dragonslayer 5k fundraising/awareness event, I messaged her instantly. “Yes! I’ll do it!”

Over several emails & phone calls, I learned about adults my age, and kids who are and have struggled with different forms of Sarcoma cancer. I arrived to see Team Sam had 200 team members to raise money on behalf of Sam, and sisters fighting to raise money to help cancer research because her little brother lost his battle with Sarcoma.

I am honored that April asked me to shoot this incredible event that will help the advancement of cancer treatments for Sarcoma victims. Thank you April and NW Sarcoma Foundation for the opportunity to shoot the PDX Dragonslayer event!

And we’re off! Bikers, walkers, runners… we conquered that 5k with pride… and lots of sweat. πŸ˜‰

Let me tell ya, power walking a 5k with camera gear is quite the work out. Wow.Β  (Ok, that makes me sound really wimpy…) Well, anyway… I was proud of myself. πŸ™‚

The young man in the red shorts in the first row… that’s Josh. I’ve known him since he was in the womb and he fought and won his battle with Sarcoma, which attacked him at the age of 4. You rock Team Joshua!!

625 people registered. They raise $30,000 for cancer research. WAY TO GO!!!!!!

Thank you again, April and NW Sarcoma Foundation, for asking me to shoot this incredible event! It was an honor and pleasure to be able to support you all!

Taylor Reavely is a familiar face to those who have attended Pictures in the Park these past couple years. This year he had all the little girls enchanted as he sang about an 8 year old girl named Kate… not to mention his whistling talent. πŸ™‚

Taylor Reavely is a 22 year old student and worship leader, native to the Portland, OR area. He just graduated from Portland State, having studied marketing, and plans to pursue his Masters of Divinity at Western Seminary in 2013. Music is his passion now, but he can easily see himself standing behind a pulpit rather than a guitar.
